If I had the time and motivation I'd be writing about . . .
Utthita Hasta Padanghustasana and beyond - I started to go over my practice pose by pose, but got lost along the way. Be good to restart that.
Remember when - you couldn't do a single surya without putting your knees down, Utthita Hasta Padanghustasana and navasana both had to be done with bent legs, it was OK that you couldn't do Janu Sirsasana as your body just so clearly wasn't made that way (ditto Trianga Mukaikapada Paschimottanasana), any attempt at Bhujapidasana had to involve blocks, cushions and/or my teacher. Preferably all three.
Yoga is other people - the one who makes me feel weirdly competitive as no one else does, the one who reminds me (quite painfully) of my brother, the ones who make me want to give a little 'yippee' when they choose to put their mat by mine.
My right knee, my left shoulder, my digestive system - they all hate me.
I can do Baddha Padmasana and Garbha Pindasana, so why can't I get my legs into Urdvha Padmasana without using my hands? - post's in the title there, really.

All is coming as it says on the T-shirts here!
ReplyDeleteNice having your practice friend Jennie here in Mysore.
Say hello from me! I suppose it's only fair that some other yogi's get the benefit of her company.
ReplyDeleteShe's put up some lovely photos on Facebook, an incredible illuminated palace, for one.
The Palace is beautiful on Sunday night when they illuminate it.
